The Henley International Film Festival was founded by commercials and documentary film maker Richard Truter in 2009, the objective was to create an unique screening venue and take cinema out of its conventional setting as well as to inspire audiences for change. It was decided that each year the festival will be driven by a specific theme, in 2010 it was “documentaries to inspire”, in 2012 it is “food in film

Besides Henley's beautiful setting along the river and home to the Henley Royal Regatta, It’s also home to many well known film producers, directors and actors. Henley is world famous and within easy reach of London and Oxford.
